IT'S OUR HOME
nusa penida, bali
We live on a large, stunningly beautiful tropical island...
The local people are still living very traditional subsistence farming lives. Their culture is balinese and their religion is Hindu.
Tourism only arrived a few years ago, until then the island was isolated albeit it is only 40 minutes by fast boat from Bali. Tradition is strong here but tourism has brought change very quickly.
The island is 200 kilometres square, it's hilly and is made of limestone. Penida has some stunningly gorgeous geographical features making it perfect for Instagram photos.
In addition to this the warm tropical waters host an abundance of fishes and corals and Penida is a marine park authority and is also part of the coral triangle. Come diving or snorkelling with turtles and mantas and mola mola (sunfish).
Travel from village to village and see how people have lived for centuries. Locals are welcoming and have warm smiles. Come and experience island life, it's an unforgettable experience.
